I've read only part, and those parts were eye-opening.
The book is supported with hundreds, if not thousands, of references. And, most notably, Mr. Fauci has not sued for defamation. Apparently the book is true, or Fauci has other reasons for holding his tongue. Because it isn't kind to him or to the federal public health agencies.
do any of you doctors treat childre? and if so have seen 6 month to 1.5 years old children vaccine injured? I am not a doctor, but do have a close relative who, immediately upon a round of mo 6 vaccines, the child turned unresponsive for a few days, and from then on, has been autistic. No signs prior, changed totally in a few days around the 6 month vaccines. this is first hand, not second hand knowledge. cause is unknown, but there are a group of people who have these stories and can document. what EXACTLY do you say to them.? You all think these are tested, but you should really investigate the protocols. they are no where near a "gold standard" - starting with selection bias from the beginning- just as the covid trials had.
What are your favorite legitimate articles to read both in support and not in support of the Covid Vaccines? My past history is in television production and so I’m very skeptical of anything that I see that is produced and published as story or video whether it’s a documentary or any heart wrenching article through understanding production value and ways to move an audience. There is tragedy with every medicine, even Tylenol and somehow not portrayed as tragic as the vaccines. In some cases not treating has a cost. I’m hungry to find a perspective of where the vaccine fits in the spectrum of all the medicines, causing harm ( or the risk / benefit) that we freely give people. Nobody wants to be in the small percentage that have an adverse reaction with any medication. But if people are having an adverse reaction for no good reason, that’s just inhumane. Perspective without emotion or agenda please.
Rejecting RFK Jr immediately, before confirmation, means that either Cifu and the author have never read any of RFK Jr's book and they don't see the good work he's done in environmental law (which shows massive ignorance), or they are compromised. Either way, I'm not waiting around to find out.
I share concerns about RFK's past comments, particularly regarding autism, but I think you've rather inadvertently made a case FOR him. You highlighted the impact his rhetoric against vaccines had in the measles incident and suggested that he ought to bear some responsibility for the deaths. I agree. You also suggest than any number of health and medicine substackers would be objectively better qualified for the job. I agree with that too. Yet... Answer me this: which of those substackers has the size of audience and credibility with vaccine skeptics that RFK does?
Wouldn't, by putting in yet another person unconvincing to vaccine skeptics, as compared to someone who might actually have the credibility (with them) to bring the skeptics around, you be assuming some responsibility for their continued unvaccinated status and the health consequences thereof?
Sure, it's a bit optimistic, but sometimes only Nixon can "go to China" (and frankly, I don't see how he could possibly take the office and then badmouth the vaccines and vaccine research produced under his watch.
The measles outbreak in Samoa was tragic. The story of it being a result of lowered vaccination rates, however, is nowhere near comprehensive. Look into what was happening in nearby islands with the same exposures. Trace the origins of it and expand the narrative.
It is a testament to the damage done by the covid debacle that RFKJr is so widely viewed as the answer. He has all his life been a crusader for various causes - environment and climate change for two. A true believer type of personality which often tends toward the authoritarian. That said, look at what happened to Jay Bhattycharia during covid. Had we followed his rational and carefully thought out policy recommendations we would be in a different place today. But he was swamped by the establishment. Maybe we need to take the risk Kennedy represents - a disruptor like Trump - in order to effect change. A bludgeon rather than a scalpel.
"When pressed, such as he was on the Lex Fridman podcast, he declined to admit that any vaccine was safe and effective. When presented with evidence arguing against a connection between the MMR vaccine and autism he has refused to change his stance. The most recent example I found was a 2023 interview with FOX News where he stated, "I do believe that autism does come from vaccines.” Like many anti-vaccine advocates, he has a well documented history of promulgating false information that effectively preyed on the vulnerability that all parents (to varying degrees) have about the effects of substances injected or ingested by their children."
[Does RFK provide evidence for his claims and assessments of how reliable/certain it is? There are ways to do this in medicine, right?]
Dr.Cifu- survey the Comments here. As a physician educated in the importance of vaccines, do you have the courage to stand up for what you believe, even if your audience demonizes you for your stance? If not, ask yourself why...
I don’t think RFK jr is either a complete moron, or God’s gift.
His general policy principles seem reasonable, and even desirable.
His specific positions on vaccine causing autism is pure quackery.
The question for me is who is there to help him realize some of his policy strengths, while keeping the crazy in check.
The other consideration is the counterfactual. I agree the nomination of Dr. Makary is great. But some of Trump’s other noms have been face-palms. And I believe Dr. Prasad made this argument: the choice isn’t btw this schmuck and some totally awesome person; it’s btw this schmuck and what is most likely to be some other schmuck.
it looks like you are not a health professional, if you were, you would look into publications of DR. Andy Wakefield and many others, who had to treat injured children right after the injections, and I'm not talking covid ge4netically modifying injections, just the old style real vaccines. Next, in order to not talk 'quackery' nonsense, just watch the DOCUMENTARIES VAXXED, VAXXED II and 'Authorized to Kill/VAXXED III'. They show/intercview HUNDREDS of families, single parents who are left with lifelong injured children, adults, AFTER the vaccinations.
Last but not least, go to VAERS, switch it in an expert mode and search for DEATHS caused by any vaccine, including autism. You will find MANY! WIthout STUDY you stay IGNORANT AND CLUELESS, like you are.
If I am reading this correctly, this argument against RFK, Jr. relies entirely on his public statements about the potential risks of vaccines.
The implication is that any figure who dares to make public statements about the potential risks of vaccines is somehow "culpable" for any deaths associated with the illnesses that these vaccines purport to protect against.
What would happen if we were to extend this "logic" to all potentially life-saving medical interventions? Should we disallow any public mention of their potential risks as well?
Linking to a YouTube video that is 2.5 hours long without providing a timestamp of the part that supports your point is poor practice. I have watched it before (although I have not rewatched it just now) and my recollection is he misspoke.
What he literally said is what is listed in this post, but what he clearly meant to say is that “no vaccine has been *proven to be* perfectly safe and effective”. This is in the context of a discussion that the vaccines were tested against something other than inert placebos. The “placebos” were immunologically inert, but not necessarily biologically inert, as is, say, saline.
Whether his point is good or not is a fair item for discussion but to selectively quote a misstatement as if it reflected his opinion - which he has made clear many other times - doesn’t reflect well on the author.
There is also the inconvenient truth that Kennedy became part of the Trump campaign, and it is even possible that this was the margin of difference in the election. In any case he openly campaigned with Trump and Trump was clear he would play a role in Trump’s administration. So it is consistent with democracy that he play a role of substance - that is what people actually voted for.
Watch the 8hr deposition of Dr Stanley Plotkin by Aaron Siri. The “father of childhood vaccines” has to admit what the data actually support regarding safety. Disgusting. We need RFK Jr and many more skeptics to clean HHS up.
Have you read The Real Anthony Fauci by RFK Jr?

Just set up a debate between chosen experts. It should fix everything quickly.

Interesting as how I cannot sort by "most liked".
More recycled arguments from a Big Pharma shill.
