I was going to offer congratulations to Dr. Prasad, but I think instead I'll offer thanks to Dr. Prasad, and congratulations to America. We have a new public servant who has the character, integrity, training, and good sense to provide the public health leadership we need and which has been so lacking since 2020.
Congrats to Vinay. I hope he will weigh in on reducing or eliminating drug advertising direct to consumers i.e., patients. I don't know if this will fall under his purview, but I can only hope! And keep bringing the topic up!

All that being said I think he would have been better as Director of the CDC because for sure the CDC needs a massive shake-up and I don't think the acting director who has been nominated to be the permanent director will do that.
Bitter sweet. It was Dr. Prasad who first introduced me to Sensible Medicine. I started learning like a crazy person. He kept my career fires burning and helped spark a giggle here and there while we all trudged through this quagmire we call medicine. I am happy for our country to have him and Dr.Jay Bhattacharya in positions where they can be heard by the populace.
