The reason why our “experts” got it wrong is because they are not experts. They became spin doctors. Doctors, clinicians, were told what to do but it was doctors who saw the patterns of care and that previous infection blunted severity of disease. There was too much control from the non medical top. This has been the most unevidence based period in healthcare that I have ever seen.

Living in Florida we did not have to be vaccinated, but my Northern relatives required vaccination to go to a major family gathering. My daughter had Covid twice, but she was not allowed to go. I will never forgive public health for this. I believe it was all about making money for Pfizer.

I apologize for lumping Florida in with the rest of the country. I thank God every day that I live in Florida and that public health in Florida actually read the reports and made informed decisions.

My sense is that the reason that the gov't health "experts" denied natural immunity is that they wanted nothing to interfere with their message of universal vaccination. Allowing for natural immunity would muddy the message and complicate the enforcement of future mandates. Truth was sacrificed on the altar of mass universal vaccination.
