Almost zero 86 year-olds need to be on cholesterol drugs. I'd discontinue as foot cramping may be non-typical extension of muscle damage for which cholesterol drugs are infamous.

Yeah….. his cardiologist freaked out at the thought of stopping the cholesterol med. My dad is both annoyed by doctors but unwilling to go against anything they say. It’s just sad. Protocols need to be instituted at how to get doctors to take people off medications! Doctors are just insanely unwilling to. The number of times I’ve heard “well, I didn’t prescribe it so I’m reluctant to take him off it. I wouldn’t want to go against another doctor’s recommendation.”
